Greetings!

Who are we? We are a family of three who enjoy travel, both more locally in our camper van as well as bigger trips by air. My name is Sarah and this is my first time blogging, so you’ll have to be patient while I learn the ins and outs of this. My full time work is in healthcare but my passion is travel. As the daughter of an airline pilot, I grew up traveling A LOT. Being able to fly cheaply as a standby passenger meant we got to travel throughout the US but also to Europe. It also meant lots of time spent in airports waiting on a flight with available seats so airports have always felt like a second home. I think because of this I love planning trips, taking trips and fantasizing about my next trip, whether it’s a one week road trip in our van through Wyoming and Yellowstone or a 5 night getaway to Cabo, Mexico to escape the cold.

My husband Mark works from home as an engineer and is a willing participant in my travel planning. His preference for travel is usually trips in our camper van where we can escape the chaos of our daily life and people in general. Our third travel companion is our 6 year old daughter. She has been traveling since an early age: her first road trip was to Silverton, Colorado at the age of 2 months followed shortly by another road trip to Taos, New Mexico, shortly before Covid shut the world down. Our occasional +1 is our dog Mochi who is a surprisingly good road tripper for a puppy of 1.5 years.

Our travels have taken us many exciting places, which I hope to cover in the coming months. I plan to categorize our travel in two main ways: by camper van and by air. As a family we have flown to Hawaii (Maui and Kauai), the Outer banks, Vermont, Washington (state), Florida, Arkansas, Ireland, Costa Rica and Mexico. Our road trips have taken us all over our home state of Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, California, Idaho and South Dakota. As solo travelers my husband and I have traveled more extensively, having visited Canada, Belize, the Bahamas, Barbados, Guatemala, Peru, Chile, New Zealand, China, Thailand, Japan, Uganda, Mozambique, Madagascar, England, Scotland, France, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Norway and Sweden.

We look forward to sharing our adventures, our itineraries, and other tips we have learned along the way!
